You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, anxious, unfulfilled, or simply ready to understand themselves better. If something feels off, even if you can't name it, that's often enough to begin.

What happens in the free consultation?

The free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure conversation. You can share a bit about what's been on your mind, ask questions about Lauren's approach, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There's no commitment required.

What does the first session look like?

The first session is a chance to get to know each other more fully. Lauren will ask about your background, what brought you in, and what you're hoping therapy will help with. It's conversational, warm, and goes at your pace.

How long does therapy take?

It depends on your goals and what you're working through. Some people find meaningful progress in a few months; others prefer ongoing, longer-term work. Lauren will check in with you regularly to make sure the pace and direction feel right.

What is your approach like?

Lauren's approach is integrative and tailored to each client. She draws from CBT, psychodynamic therapy, EFT, Gottman Method, mindfulness-based approaches, attachment theory, ACT, and more. There's no rigid formula, she meets you where you are.

What if I don't know what to talk about?

That's completely okay. Many clients begin with a general sense of feeling stuck, anxious, or ready for something to shift, without being able to name exactly what's going on. Part of the work is exploring and discovering together.

Do you offer couples therapy?

Yes. Lauren works with couples navigating disconnection, communication difficulties, recurring conflicts, trust issues, and deeper relational work. She draws from the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Lauren currently sees all clients via telehealth, a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This allows clients throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to access therapy from the comfort of their own space.

Where are you licensed?

Lauren is licensed as an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) in New York and an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in New Jersey and Connecticut.

How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, though frequency can be adjusted based on your needs, goals, and schedule.

Do you accept insurance?

Lauren is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance directly. Many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement through their insurance's out-of-network benefits. Lauren can provide a superbill to submit to your insurance company.
